Food banks and charities have been remarkable in recent weeks, working to keep people fed. Our teams at Cranswick Gourmet Pastry in North Yorkshire joined forces with multiple organisations to fight hunger in the local community.
Over 3400 pies and sausage rolls have been donated to Ryedale Food Bank and the Free Fridges in Norton, Pickering and Malton. These organisations have provided a vital lifeline, offering and delivering food parcels to vulnerable people and lunches for schools aiming to fill the holiday hunger gap.
We’ve also teamed up with our colleagues at Lazenbys to help produce 800 sandwiches a day for the HRI and Castle Hill hospital staff by providing butter and cheese for the sandwiches along with 150 packs of sausage rolls per week.
We’ve received plenty of well wishes and thanks from local residents, which is gratefully received by our colleagues. Thank you to the volunteers and our colleagues for continuing to go above and beyond.
