We’re working hard on our own carbon reduction journey as a critical part of ‘Second Nature’, which is our ambitious sustainability roadmap to help us become the world’s most sustainable meat business.
In March we joined the Science Based Target Initiative as part of our commitment to achieve Net Zero by 2040, and we’ve recently exceeded the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 12.3 to halve global per capita food waste by 2030 and removed over 1,000 tonnes of plastic from our business.
But we have always known there is only so much we can do on our own.
That’s why we are delighted to join forces with our industry colleagues and WRAP to deliver a wider impact with thirty-eight of the UK’s largest organisations involved in the meat supply chain from farm to fork.
Meat in a Net Zero World will help deliver against a number of industry initiatives including the NFU’s Net Zero vision, the European Roundtable for Beef Sustainability/UK Cattle Sustainability Platform and the UK Roundtable on Sustainable Soya.
WRAP will ensure all participating companies are held to account by publicly reporting on progress.
