Hog & Beyond showcased their exciting menu of local produce and global flavours at this year’s Malton Food Lovers Festival, 26th - 27th May.
As one of the UK’s busiest food festivals, the annual event is a celebration of fine, local produce and suppliers from across the county. For the third time running, Hog & Beyond had a stall at the free festival, offering delicious dishes combining flavours from around the world with local meat products supplied by Cranswick.
Hog & Beyond offered four dishes on their menu at the festival, including:
- Streaky Bacon Pain Perdu, combining British dry-cured air-dried smoked streaky bacon with tomato chutney in brioche French toast
- Sausage Pain Perdu, a British pork sausage patty with tomato chutney in brioche French toast
- Middle-Eastern Chicken Wrap, full of smoked chargrilled British chicken thigh, smoked garlic hummus and pomegranate harissa
- Hog Roast Burger, stacking a British pork and apple burger topped with toffee apple pulled pork and pork crackling crumb
Loved by many, the Hog Roast Burger sold out by the end of Saturday – Hog & Beyond’s first day at the festival, with the rest of the menu also nearly selling out as the festival came to a close on Sunday.
This year’s festival was a hugely successful event. The weather was fantastic – perfect for the 180+ market stalls and street food vans that showcased their produce and delicacies. Visitors to the festival could also enjoy the pop-up picnic area, festival bar, music and celebrity chef demos from Michelin-starred Tommy Banks, Michael O’Hare, James Mackenzie and Andrew Pern, all keeping visitors well and truly immersed in foodie heaven.
Hog & Beyond was founded in 2015 with a mission to provide people with tasty dishes using high quality produce originating in the UK. Using British outdoor-bred pork and poultry products supplied by Cranswick, it offers farm-to-fork credibility, as well as complete traceability.
Consumers can now purchase Hog & Beyond products via Hello Fresh, the meal kit solution company. The partnership with Hello Fresh began when they spotted the Hog & Beyond stall at a street food event and since then they have been Hello Fresh’s supplier of high-quality British outdoor-bred pork products.
