On 8th May 2015 at the Hilton Park Lane, the best own label groceries supplied by Britain's leading supermarket and retail chains were unveiled at a celebration lunch attended by industry leaders.
Now in their tenth year The Grocer Food & Drink Own Label Awards recognise the best of the best in supermarket own label. During the celebratory lunch 70 Gold and Silver winners were announced.
We are delighted to announce that Marks and Spencer won Gold in the Meatballs & Burgers category for the Cranswick produced Gloucester Old Spot Pork Burgers.
On awarding Gold the judges said:
“An intriguing idea for our consumer testers, some of whom has never tasted a pork-based burger, this one scored highly on flavour, texture, appearance and information packaging. Our expert judges said it was very well seasoned, with a good peppery aftertaste.”
