On Saturday 10th June, almost 100 Cranswick employees completed the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge as part of an ongoing charity initiative, More Together.
Along with 17 other Hull based businesses, a total of 550 people battled through the challenging weather conditions, in a bid to raise money for various charities. The group climbed a total of 1,585 metres during the challenge, which took in the summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborogh.
Carl Meade, Factory Manager at Cranswick Gourmet Bacon, said; “I’m incredibly proud of each and every one of us who took part, the weather was against us, but it was the brilliant work of the charities that kept us going to the end”
The Cranswick team raised over £8,000 and is a great start to the “More Together” programme which has seen the business join up with various businesses to raise money for local and National charities.
The next event in the More Together calendar is the Total Warrior challenge, taking place on Saturday 24th June and subsequently, the Humber Bridge Family Walk on Sunday 9th July. Upon completion of the final challenge, Hesslewood Hall will play host to a Family Fun Day to celebrate the group’s fundraising achievements.
