The Cranswick Asda team, based in Hull, have been congratulated as they received two awards for Sustainability and Volume at the recent Asda Meat, Fish and Poultry conference.
Cranswick received the sustainability award in recognition of the fantastic work the fresh pork sites have done to reduce their plastic usage and their transition to using mono packaging. All as part of the groups Second Nature strategy, which seeks to address key issues across the life cycle of all products by integrating sustainability as second nature to what they do, how they work and why they do it.
Asda also recognised the outstanding service level delivered by Cranswick throughout the whole of last year, particularly through the summer when the majority of retailers experienced high volumes of sales due to the prolonged BBQ weather.
Tom Wilson, Cranswick's Business Unit Controller for Asda says “Myself and the team work relentlessly to ensure that we are always striving to be the best we can be. Therefore to be recognised by Asda in these two categories is a great achievement and we look forward to continuing to build on these areas and more going forward in to 2019”.
