COVID-19 has changed our world in a matter of weeks. Our colleagues at Cranswick are not only rising to the challenge of producing food for the nation; they are doing their bit to fight food poverty during the lockdown amid growing community needs.
When we talk about sustainability being Second Nature to us, a core focus has always been fighting hunger in our communities. We already work on a national level with the Trussell Trust and Company Shop, and we recently reached a 100,000 meals milestone with Fareshare.
Since the crisis, started our sites have each found their own way to support their local charities and organisations. From emergency food parcels, meat hampers, daily sandwiches for the NHS, food bank support, extra supplies for school children to financial donations to buy food. The organisations we support are a vital lifeline not just for isolated and shielding people, but also for people who were living on the breadline but not entitled to the free lunches, or had no recourse to public funds.
We understand the next normal will look nothing like the normal we leave behind - and we are proud of our colleagues continuing resilience and grit. Thank you.
