Cranswick colleagues were delighted to attend the ‘Chop and Change’ lunch at Ganton School, an initiative founded by Asa, teacher and Industries Coordinator, that enables young people to develop their culinary skills that will be extremely beneficial to their future, allowing the students to be ‘resilient not reliant’.
The Chop and Change lunch is part of the ‘Industry Chefs into Schools’ programme which has been supported by one of our chef’s Ben and Innovation Manager Rachael for the past two years. They work with the students to teach a range of cooking techniques; including knife skills, sous vide, deep frying and roasting. The students are also able to develop their front of house skills, due to the restaurant style format that the school has developed.
Adam Couch, Chief Executive Officer, and Miranda Spencer, Group HR Director, both attended the lunch at Ganton School alongside a selection of Cranswick colleagues. The team enjoyed their delicious two-course lunch, consisting of…
- Sous vide pork tenderloin and pulled pork bon bons, served with pomme puree, glazed carrots and cavolo nero kale.
- Followed by bacon brownies served with salted caramel cream.
All students were brilliant and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
A huge thank you to Ben and Rachael for their amazing hard work in supporting the scheme, it really wouldn’t be possible without them.
