Cranswick plc has signed up to a unique charity project called “More Together” with several other businesses in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The project will challenge Cranswick employees to compete in three different physical activities in a bid to raise money for charitable causes in the upcoming summer months.
Whether it is hiking 24 miles across the Yorkshire Three Peaks, battling through 30 obstacles in the Total Warrior challenge or walking 4 miles across the Humber Bridge in fancy dress, there is an opportunity for all employees to get involved.
Group HR Director, Miranda Walker, said “the project is a fantastic opportunity for employees across the business to raise money for some great causes”.
“This will also be a great team building exercise and will not only bring together Cranswick employees who wouldn’t ordinarily work in the same functions or sites but also employees across different Hull based organisations.”
The initiative started in 2016 as part of an internal fundraising project at global medical technology business, Smith & Nephew. After the project’s success, founder Simon Ansell decided it was time to extend the invitation to other Hull-born businesses in a united effort to raise even more for charity than the previous year.
“More Together has the potential to become an annual event and provide a legacy long after 2017. As well as raising significant amounts for charity, the initiative aims to build new relationships right across the city at all levels, improving wellbeing and team building inside and across organisations.” said Simon, Operational Quality Team Leader, Smith & Nephew.
