Biodiversity Days – Clean up and put back

Our Cranswick Gourmet Pastry Waste Warriors tackled litter in the local area as part of our biodiversity plans.

Biodiversity is vitally important to our existence. From all the plants and the trees, and the breathable air that those provide, to all the animals, fish, birds, bees, right down to the tiny microbes that keep our soil alive. All these things make it possible for us to survive on this planet.

At Cranswick, we don’t just take these incredibly valuable ‘services’ for granted.

WHAT WE ACHIEVED:

Over two days, 22 bags of rubbish, four tyres and loads of plastic sheeting was collected! This was all collected and sorted into recycling or energy from waste. Not only did the team collect but they also gave back.

  • Seven bird boxes, five bat boxes and three bug houses around the local area were installed.

  • Bags of wildflower seeds were scattered to attract local bees, bugs and butterflies around the wooded area that surrounds the site.

The team want to maintain this activity for the good of the area, biodiversity and that feel good factor!
