The theme of World Environment Day 2019 was "Air Pollution", so we encouraged our colleagues to make the switch to clean energy — not only at work but also at home.
World Environment Day is the biggest annual event for positive environmental action and this year, the theme was "Air Pollution".
Approximately 7 million people worldwide die prematurely each year from air pollution.
World Environment Day 2019 urges us to come together to explore renewable energy and green technologies and improve air quality in cities and regions across the world.
What causes air pollution?
Air pollution is caused by energy and electricity created from burning fossil fuels. These fossils fuels are non-renewable and come in the form of decayed marine creatures, coal, petroleum and natural gases.
None of these sources have the ability to be replenished and all have a negative impact on the air.
